Bakul Aromatics and Chemicals Private Limited was established in 1975, with the aim of
developing aromatic and specialty chemical compounds. The initial manufacturing facilities were located in Vashi, Maharashtra. In 1984, a newly expanded facility was created in Patalganga, Maharashtra spread over 11,000 m2 with state-of-the art manufacturing capabilities for API and intermediates. In 1986, manufacturing capabilities were expanded to include a facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Bakul Finechem Research Centre, located in Mumbai was established in 1975, with the goal of developing efficient synthetic routes for manufacturing APIs and intermediates.
Bakul Pharma Private Limited was established in 1997 exclusively to produce APIs and intermediates and has manufacturing facilities in Ankleshwar, Gujarat with a multi-purpose production plant and a fully equipped process R&D laboratory.
Promoters
Ranjit Majmudar Ph.D.
The late Dr. Ranjit N. Majmudar was associated with the Bakul Group of Companies since their inception and served on the Board of Directors until his retirement in 2004. Previously, he was associated for over 40 years with May & Baker Ltd, a multinational Pharmaceutical Company as Head of its India operations.
Yogin Majmudar
Mr. Yogin R. Majmudar is the founder and Managing Director of the Bakul Group of Companies. He is a technocrat entrepreneur and has achieved extensive experience in production of APIs and pharma intermediates having been educated with a MS in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the Univeristy of Rochester, USA, and subsequently being trained in Germany and the UK at major Pharmaceutical Companies. He has also been actively associated with Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) and Bulk Drug Manufacturers’ Association (BDMA) holding various office bearer positions and has served as President of IDMA for 2 years.
Madhavi Majmudar
Mrs. Madhavi Majmudar joined the Bakul Group circa 1990 and is currently overseeing the Finance Operations and CSR activities. She has a B.Sc (honours) in Chemistry from Bombay University.
Chinmay Majmudar Ph.D.
Dr. Chinmay Y. Majmudar joined the Bakul Group in 2015. Prior to that, he was a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan in the area of drug discovery from where he also received his Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in Chemical Biology. He received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California - Berkeley. At the Bakul Group, he oversees the Operations, Business Development and R&D activities.
